We are in full swing here at the preschool with our festivities having already started for the season. We had a visit from a biologist who talked to the Franklins about animal migration, we made butter and we had a Thanksgiving party for all of the kids.
Our theme for December is “I’m thankful for Jesus’ Birthday.” We will have Joseph’s carpentry shop and a stable again and the Franklins will be enacting the Christmas Story. Our month ends with a birthday party for Jesus, complete with cakes, candles, and of course a rounding rendition of “Happy Birthday”.
The Franklin class presented their first concert of the year on November 19th. The children were very excited about showing their families what they have learned so far in violin as well as presenting a demonstration of the sign language they have been working on. It was a joy to listen to their enthusiastic showmanship.
Our Christmas service project for this year is being referred to as PJs and Bs (Pajamas, Books or Bears). Each child can wear their pjs, bring a new book, new pajamas, or new teddy bear (all unwrapped and appropriate for ages 0-6 years) when we celebrate Jesus’ Birthday on December 17th and 18th. Our “gifts” of PJs and Bs will be donated to the Family Promise of Casper for use in their day center, which is a service provided for homeless families. If you would like to donate one of the above mentioned items as well, you can drop them off at the preschool office or Tracy has offered to pass them along to us if you leave them in the wrapped box on the counter in her office.
Currently, we have one opening in our 3-year-old Spots class, and one opening in our 5-year-old Franklin class available in January, so as always, if you know of anyone who has a child that would benefit from our wonderful program, please have them give us a call at 234-8522 or stop by. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Holiday season.
