When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.&nbsp;<strong><sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly.&nbsp;<strong><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, \u201cJoseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.&nbsp;<strong><sup>21&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><sup>23&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cLook, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and they shall name him Emmanuel,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>which means, \u201cGod is with us.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife,&nbsp;<strong><sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>but had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son;&nbsp;and he named him Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke 1:26-38<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><sup>26\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,\u00a0<strong><sup>27\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin\u2019s name was Mary.\u00a0<strong><sup>28\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And he came to her and said, \u201cGreetings, favored one!
